Proximate Analysis

Proximate analysis is used to assess the nutritional value of your animal feed to ensure that it is Crude fibre safe for animal consumption and contains enough proteins, fats and carbohydrates for healthy animals. Proximate analysis is carried out to determine the approximate amounts of compounds within a sample:
  • Crude Protein (Kjeldahl nitrogen)
  • Crude Fat (Ether extraction)
  • Crude Fibre
  • Moisture (Loss on drying)
  • Ash

By calculation, the values from the parameters listed above can be used to estimate:
  • Carbohydrate
  • Metabolizable energy
